Truven Health Analytics to Facilitate Pennsylvania Statewide Healthcare Data Sharing Under Multi-Year Contract

ANN ARBOR, Mich.-- The Pennsylvania eHealth Partnership Authority has selected Truven Health Analytics, formerly the Healthcare business of Thomson Reuters, as its partner in building a statewide community shared services (CSS) platform. The Pennsylvania eHealth Partnership Authority is an independent state agency that works to meet federal requirements for Health Information Exchanges (HIEs) in Pennsylvania.

“We are very pleased to team with the Pennsylvania eHealth Partnership to build the technology for seamless, statewide coordination of care,” said Mike Boswood, Truven Health Analytics president and CEO. “The promise of achieving improved healthcare outcomes on a massive scale is now closer to reality as more and more state health organizations begin to leverage powerful data and analytics resources; we are proud to be a part of that movement.”

Under the five-year agreement, the Pennsylvania CSS exchange will utilize Truven Health’s HIE solution to facilitate the secure exchange of health information amongst certified participants. The CSS will also support comprehensive participant directories and other trust services for the state through a single interface, providing clinicians within Pennsylvania’s 11 regional and statewide HIEs with comprehensive patient histories at the point of care so they can make better-informed clinical decisions.

“With so many stakeholders, our relationship building capabilities will be just as critical for success as our strong technology platform,” said Grant Hoffman, Truven Health Analytics vice president for Integration.

Truven Health’s HIE solution is powered by CareEvolution and will implement advanced industry standards (for example, DIRECT, eHealth Exchange CONNECT - IHE PIX, XDS, XCA/XCPD, and ATNA) to create a tailored exchange for healthcare stakeholders throughout Pennsylvania.
