DataTrade Solutions Unveils Mobile Charge Capture Application: iCoder MD

Collegeville, PA, May 23, 2013 -- With yet another Health IT innovation, DataTrade Solutions, Inc (DTS) recently released iCoder MD, a mobile charge capture application that is designed to work on any smartphone. iCoder MD is a web-based application that is designed to replace the paper procedure and diagnosis slips that doctors use to record charges while making rounds at a hospital, nursing home, or any other outside location away from their primary office’s electronic health record (EHR) and electronic practice management (EPM) applications. iCoder MD allows a doctor to use their smartphone to quickly submit charges to a administrative, back-end website that his/her billing staff will access to securely receive billing information while away from the primary office.

Efficiency and simplicity were top of mind during the development of iCoder MD. The functions of iCoder MD were purposely kept light to avoid user fatigue and keep the doctor’s moving through their round with minimal addition to the ever-growing workload that all doctors are facing in the advancement of Health IT initiatives. Doctor’s who use iCoder MD can take advantage of the shortcut features currently available to them by saving a custom list of diagnosis and procedure codes to their account for even greater efficiency, or they can do quick searches on iCoder MD’s cloud-based database. Once the charges are submitted, selected billers can access the administrator web site to enter the charges into whatever kind of practice management system the practice is using. Other available features on the administrator website include mobile site configuration, and charge editing.

iCoder MD is available in two different versions, the standard iCoder MD and iCoder MD Pro. Of all the features offered through iCoder, there are currently two primary differences in these versions; the ability to synchronize appointments and an interface to the doctor’s primary office EHR and EPM application. For a flat practice fee, any number of doctors at a given practice will have their iCoder MD clinical data validated and inserted directly into their primary EHR and EPM applications with iCoder MD Pro.
