NCQA names first batch of newly certified PCMH content experts
The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) released the names of 112 individuals from 29 states as newly certified patient-centered medical home (PCMH) content experts.
Holders of the PCMH content expert certification must demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the requirements, the application process and the documentation required for PCMH Recognition. “This prestigious and professional credential positions you as an expert in the field and aligns you with NCQA's mission to improve the quality of healthcare,” according to the NCQA website.
To obtain certification, content experts must complete two NCQA educational seminars and pass a comprehensive examination. Certification requires renewal after two years.
The certification program in part was formed to assist providers in assessing qualifications of the growing number of professionals and consultants available to help practices prepare for NCQA PCMH evaluation, according to a related press announcement.
