HMS, Certify Data Systems form HIE alliance

Certify Data Systems and Healthcare Management Systems (HMS) announced a new partnership through which Certify’s health information exchange (HIE) software and hardware will be made available by HMS to its current and future customers.

The partnership between HMS and Certify allows hospitals the means to electronically share patient information with providers regardless of which EHR systems are in use, the companies stated.

Since smaller, community hospitals often lack the resources needed to implement large-scale IT projects such as HIEs, the Certify/HMS relationship offers a clinical gateway for hospitals to adopt the ability to exchange data with local physicians, they added.
