AHIMA names COO

The American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) has named Deborah Green as chief operating officer (COO) and has promoted CFO Denise Froemming to oversee additional areas of the association.

Green, who has been an AHIMA member, most recently was CIO for 10 years at LaVie Care, a chain of nursing and rehabilitation facilities. She previously led systems strategy and enterprise initiatives at Mariner Post-Acute Network, know called Sava Senior Care, which provides a variety of short- and long-term care services. At AHIMA she will oversee the advocacy and policy, business innovation, HIM solutions and marketing departments.

Froemming joined AHIMA in 2011 as vice president and CFO after serving in multiple positions at the College of American Pathologists, ending as director of accounting, tax and operations. Now with a promotion to executive vice president and remaining CFO, she is responsible for the finance and administration units, as well as member services and customer engagement, information technology, and communications.
