AHIMA appoints new execs
The American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) has appointed Deborah Green, MBA, as executive vice president of operations and chief operating officer. Denise Froemming, CPA, MBA, has been promoted to executive vice president and chief financial officer.
In her new role, Green will oversee AHIMA’s advocacy and policy, business innovation, HIM solutions and marketing departments. Froemming will oversee finance and administration, including member and customer engagement, information technology, communications and financial services. With more than 20 years of HIM experience, Green joined AHIMA from LaVie Care, where she served as CIO for 10 years. Prior to her work at LaVie Care, Green led systems strategy and enterprise-wide initiatives for Mariner Post-Acute Network (now Sava Senior Care). She was nominated for Georgia Woman of the Year in Technology in 2004, received the AHIMA National Visionary Award in 2000 and has held several volunteer leadership positions with AHIMA, most notably serving as the national chairman for the Quality Management Section of AHIMA in 1990.
Froemming joined AHIMA in 2011 after serving in a variety positions at the College of American Pathologists (CAP). Froemming rose to director of accounting, tax and operations during her tenure at CAP where she was primarily responsible for the integrity of the financial information and systems for the $150 million healthcare organization. Shee received both the president’s Award as well as the Georgia Gregory Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to CAP, which serves pathologists, patients and the public.
