Arkansas hospital first to go live with statewide HIE
North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison has become the state's first hospital to launch the State Health Alliance for Records Exchange, the statewide health information exchange in Arkansas.
“North Arkansas Regional is taking an important step in building our state’s digital infrastructure and improving the healthcare of Arkansans,” said Gov. Mike Beebe in a statement published by the Arkansas Office of Health IT. “It’s willingness to take part in the SHARE innovation will help ensure that a patient’s medical information is available where it is needed, when it is needed.”
Other organizations are expected to join SHARE in 2013, with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences slated to go live in February, according to the statement.
