Gamma Medica files for bankruptcy

Gamma Medica-Ideas and its related entities have filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection on Aug. 20 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Central District of California in Woodland Hills. 

All unsecured claims will be addressed during the bankruptcy process, the company said in an email to Health Imaging.

The court gave them until Sept. 4 to submit a list of equity security holders, as well as a declaration of debtors.

Northridge, Calif.-based Gamma Medica builds and services medical imaging systems based on technologies that will seek to bring systems into the digital era with its sensor readout systems. Its clinical imaging division's foremost product is the FDA-approved LumaGEM MBI (molecular breast imaging) system, which is planar, dual-head, solid-state digital imaging system utilizing cadmium zinc telluride technology used for breast imaging.
