Carestream launches DR system with smaller console

Carestream Health has upgraded its Carestream DRX-1 system with a new smaller and lighter console.

The console, which has all the wiring and power components mounted inside the cover, is 20 x 8 x 15 inches and weighs 36 pounds, according to the Rochester, N.Y.-based company. The company said its new console minimizes the footprint of the DRX-1 system, which allows facilities to convert existing x-ray rooms to digital radiography with Carestream’s wireless, cassette-size DRX detector.

A DRX detector can be transferred for use with any DRX system, and each DRX system employs the same user interface, Carestream said in a press release.
