Merge moves archiving to the cloud
Merge Healthcare has released Merge Honeycomb Archive, an image archiving application available within its cloud-based platform.
Merge Honeycomb cloud-based applications provide long-term storage that houses images in multiple locations. It delivers functionality in a high-security framework that meets HIPAA, HITECH and other privacy requirements, according to the Chicago-based company. As an organization's storage needs increase, the archive can add capacity. It is sold via a SaaS-based payment model, and offers a 'per click, per study' model.
Merge said its Merge Honeycomb web application includes Merge Honeycomb Image Sharing; iConnect Access, a zero-download DICOM image viewer; iConnect Share, an internet-based gateway for image sharing between enterprises; and iConnect VNA, a vendor neutral archive which can be utilized to create an enterprise imaging strategy backbone. Merge Honeycomb interfaces with iConnect Share via web services to coordinate study uploads and to query uploaded studies.
