Agfa to employ DataFirst data migration, archiving tools
Agfa Healthcare has signed a new agreement with DataFirst, a software engineering firm based in Raleigh, N.C., to provide data migration service capabilities and archival storage technologies for healthcare facilities.
Cardiology data migration often places a substantial demand on legacy technology (i.e. jukebox technology, DVD, MOD, etc.) as well as the limited IT resource pool in today's hospital environment. Utilizing DataFirst's Hyper-Migration, Agfa said it can speed the process for facilities compared with standard DICOM query migrations.
In addition to providing migration services, Agfa also will provide end-to-end support, upgrading the archive hardware to industry standard technology, and non-imaging datasets like HL7 reports can be migrated as well.
