ONC seeks public comment on mobile device usage

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) issued a request for public comment on privacy and security issues and best practices related to the use of mobile devices by providers and other healthcare professionals to access, store and transmit health information.

Healthcare professionals are asked for information regarding real world usage of mobile devices in healthcare devices, as well as information on privacy and security practices, strategies and technology that guide their use.

The public is invited to submit comments online through March 30. For more information, go to ONC's website.
