Carestream mobile x-ray gets cleared for use in Canada

Health Canada has issued a medical device license for the Carestream DRX-Revolution mobile x-ray system, approving its use by healthcare facilities in Canada.

Among the system’s features are a collapsible column, maneuverable tube head and a dual-drive system for 360 degree turns. It has a 32kW generator, DRX detector and Carestream software that allows for tube alignment with a grid, according to Rochester, N.Y.-based Carestream.

The DRX-Revolution system is expected to begin shipping by June.
