Leapfrog highlights 2011 top hospitals, with lots of Kaiser love
The survey is based on three aspects of hospital care: how patients fare, resources utilized and the management of practices that promote safety and quality. Hospitals report data on these three categories and data are compared nationally.
This year’s rankings highlight the accomplishments of teaching hospitals, children’s hospitals and community hospitals in rural, suburban and urban settings.
The top hospitals list is chosen from nearly 1,200 hospitals that voluntarily and publicly report performance measures.
