Dell to donate cloud services for pediatric cancer research

Computer manufacturer Dell, headquartered in Round Rock, Texas, is planning to provide cloud computing technology, professional support and millions of dollars in funding to the Neuroblastoma and Medulloblastoma Translation Research Consortium (NMTRC) and the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) in support of pediatric cancer research.

Dell’s donation will allow for the expansion of the world’s first personalized medicine clinical trial investigation for pediatric cancer being conducted by NMTRC, TGen and the Van Andel Research Institute. Researchers and Dell believe that the donated technology will allow the program to enroll hundreds of new participants, develop a real-time knowledge repository of information and increase collaboration among the program’s physicians, researchers and pharmacists.
