Philips releases clinical decision support for ventilators

Philips Healthcare has released a clinical decision support tool, called VentAssist, designed to help clinicians manage ventilated adult patients. The software could help reduce the risk of ventilator-associated pneumonia, according to the company.

VentAssist is an enhancement to the Respironics NM3 respiratory profile monitor, a portable device that can be used with any conventional ventilator. The new product manages patient data and offers advice to clinicians for ventilating adult patients using current clinical practice recommendations.
