DrChrono offering M*Modal tech on iPad app

Speech recognition software developer M*Modal has announced that DrChrono, publisher of point-of-care and practice management software, is offering the company’s speech recognition technology as part of DrChrono’s iPad EHR app.

The integration represents the first medical speech-to-text technology for the Apple iPad, according to Pittsburgh-based M*Modal.

DrChrono, of Mountain View, Calif., streamlines workflows by enabling physicians to access EHRs on demand from their iPad, iPhone, any Web browser or Android device. For clinical documentation, physicians can dictate their notes into a Bluetooth headset, and M*Modal technology automatically transcribes the voice into text directly in the EHR, the company added.
