Hamilton named PointClear CMIO

Rodney M. Hamilton, MD, has been CMIO and managing director of product strategy practice for health IT services company PointClear Solutions.

Hamilton, a pediatrician, is a health IT industry veteran who has held executive roles at McKesson and at Vanguard Health Systems, according to PointClear, of Huntsville, Ala. He continues to practice pediatrics on a limited basis at a practice that he co-founded in 2006. Hamilton is an administrator and active user of an ambulatory EMR in that setting, and remains an active member of the clinical staff at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.

His focus at PointClear is on assisting healthcare organizations achieve their goals through strategic use of IT through implementation or integration of existing technologies and/or the development of custom tools, the company added.
