Parallels, Microsoft partner to boost cloud usage

Parallels, a Seattle-based hosting and cloud services developer, has inked a two-year deal with Microsoft to deliver a cloud automation tool focused on the healthcare industry.

As a result of the partnership, large healthcare institutions will be able to create private, public and hybrid cloud networks and enable immediate access to critical information by physicians, administrators and insurance providers at all times, Parallels stated.

The two companies plan to invest up to $5 million in product development and professional services, as well as joint sales and marketing, to accelerate the use of cloud computing services within the health sector, the company added.
