IMS acquires Med-Vantage

Analytical services provider IMS Health has acquired Med-Vantage, a San Francisco-based software technology company, expanding IMS’ capabilities in the payor marketplace. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Med-Vantage offers a suite of provider performance management and member engagement systems that promote high-quality care and address the complexities of new reimbursement and care delivery models, stated IMS of Norwalk, Conn.

IMS will integrate its healthcare data, analytics, benchmarks and quality measures into Med-Vantage’s product suite. This combination will seek to enable payors to engage providers and members with information and analysis to change behaviors and create performance management programs, the company added.

IMS offers de-identified patient insights, clinical benchmarking and analytical services to health plans and pharmacy benefit management clients. Its services leverage a non-plan-owned integrated medical claims database and a pharmacy data platform.
