Pepid adds duplicate therapy checking to drug interaction checker
Pepid, a drug data and clinical decision support health IT developer, has added duplicate therapy checking to its drug interaction checker.
Pepid's drug interaction checker provides alerts for duplicate therapy on three different levels—therapeutic class, pharmacologic class and the ingredient level, the Phoenix-based company stated. Drug-drug, drug-allergy, drug-food and drug-herbal checks are already available.
The duplicate therapy check will allow EMR or pharmacy information systems to give users a warning if a duplicate therapy exists, Pepid stated. System developers can use the Pepid software development kit to receive critical drug information monographs, dosing calculators, drug interaction, drug-allergy or duplicate therapy information, the company added.
