California health system expands connectivity with GSI

Palomar Pomerado Health (PPH) has signed an agreement to deploy health information exchange (HIE) tools from GSI Health.

The HIE infrastructure provided by GSI Health will enable information exchange among affiliated physician groups and PPH hospitals to improve the quality of the care delivery process, the Philadelphia-based health IT software developer stated.

GSI Health will work with PPH, a large healthcare system based in Escondido, Calif., to deploy Nationwide Health Information Network's Connect and Direct to facilitate the transfer of clinical summaries and distribute discharge summaries supporting care transitions among healthcare providers.

The infrastructure implemented by GSI Health will also enable PPH’s mobile health platform to access and exchange industry standard clinical summaries, the company said.
