Florida hospital appoints its first CMIO
Eduardo Locatelli, MD, has been appointed CMIO of Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
As CMIO—a newly created position at Holy Cross—Locatelli will collaborate with information services, IT and other related departments to develop and implement patient record systems as the hospital continues its multi-year transition to the CareLink medical record environment. In addition, he also will lead clinical and organizational efforts in using IT.
Locatelli has been a member of the Holy Cross medical staff since 2007, directing the hospital’s Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. Prior to that, he was director of medical informatics at Cleveland Clinic.
