Mass. insurance exchange re-ups with Dell
The Massachusetts Health Connector Authority (Health Connector) and Dell Services have extended by two years an agreement through which Dell will deliver a range of enrollment, billing, website and customer experience services to the Health Connector, one of the first health insurance exchanges in the U.S.
The agreement spans the Health Connector program and focuses a large percentage of work on Commonwealth Care, the low- or no-cost health insurance option for qualified state residents. Dell provides maintenance and development services for the Health Connector’s primary web portal, which directs current and future enrollees to the plan options that suit their needs. The Plano, Texas-based company provides a multilingual call center to assist customers, and oversees all Health Connector phone, web and postal interactions.
The Massachusetts Health Connector is an independent state authority that helps residents find insurance coverage. Of the 400,000 Massachusetts residents newly insured since enactment of the state’s healthcare reform legislation in 2006, more than one-half receive their coverage through the Connector.
