Kentucky health center uses NextGen EHR, reaps incentives

Grace Community Health Center, of Gray, Ky., has secured more than $150,000 in state Medicaid incentives by demonstrating its selection of NextGen Healthcare’s certified ambulatory EHR tool.

With the support of the Kentucky Regional Extension Center, Grace CHC registered its physicians for the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program in February 2010 and quickly secured the maximum payment amount of $21,500 per physician from the government, stated Horsham, Pa.-based NextGen, a wholly owned subsidiary of Quality Systems.

Grace CHC plans to utilize NextGen tools to help it achieve Stage 1 meaningful use later this year, while streamlining complex billing and quality reporting requirements, according to the health center.
