Report: Remote patient monitoring market to grow 26% annually
“With increased waiting times at doctors’ offices, some employees may have to take a sick or personal day to see the physician for what might be a routine visit and technology might help avoid that scenario,” the New York City-based researcher stated.
According to Kalorama Information’s report, one company, NuPhysicia uses video telemedicine to connect board-certified doctors with employee patients for examinations, diagnoses, medical care and wellness coaching. The company asserted that its service can minimize sick days for employees and improve efficiency.
“This is just one of many uses of technologies that will propel growth in these systems over $6 billion this year,” the report concluded. “These types of innovations fit well with the needs of healthcare and are driving growth in the remote patient wireless systems market.”
