HIMSS, Life Sciences IT Global Institute join forces

The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and the Life Sciences IT (LSIT) Global Institute have joined forces to provide education, resources and tools to the life sciences community including research, medical devices, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and diagnostics.

The San Diego-based LSIT is developing reference guidelines and is documenting Good Informatics Practices for IT systems in the life and health sciences.

The Good Informatics Practices will be a comprehensive body of industry-specific IT and informatics guidance for life sciences professionals. Currently under development, the Good Informatics Practices document will serve as a reference tool intended to define best practices in IT systems ranging from infrastructure to data management, addressing regulatory requirements and standards, according to HIMSS, of Chicago.
