Harris nets $19M to develop Florida HIE

Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) has selected Harris Healthcare Solutions to implement a statewide health information exchange (HIE) infrastructure to improve delivery and coordination of healthcare.

The Melbourne, Fla.-based company will use the four-year, $19 million contract to connect health entities across Florida including physicians, hospitals, regional HIEs and state government agencies, and provide secure and authorized exchange of patient health information.

Via Harris’ open, standards-based technology, the state can adapt to health policies and technologies, and build on existing regional investments for a connected Florida HIE, according to the company.
