CDC taps Accenture for IT, info management
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has selected Accenture as a prime contractor on its 10-year, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity CDC Information Management Services (CIMS) contract to be used to acquire IT services and tools supporting CDC’s global public health initiatives.
Under CIMS, Accenture will compete for work in two areas–information management services and IT infrastructure services–with ceiling values of $3 billion and $1 billion, respectively, over the 10-year period, the Atlanta-based Accenture stated.
According to the company, among the capabilities and tools that Accenture may deliver to CDC include health IT, disease management, predictive analytics, health information exchanges, network systems design, information security services and infrastructure managed services.
