NextGen inpatient EHR gets CCHIT-certified

NextGen Healthcare Information Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Quality Systems, announced that NextGen Inpatient Clinicals version 2.4 has earned designation as a premarket conditionally CCHIT Certified 2011 Inpatient EHR.

NextGen Inpatient Clinicals is a web-based tool that can be delivered through remote hosting or local deployment. By implementing the NextGen Inpatient Clinicals Suite, hospitals can run applications such as the certified EHR, CPOE, nursing and physician documentation, clinical decision support and barcode medication administration.

The Horsham, Pa.-based company also intends to certify NextGen Inpatient Clinicals under the ONC-ATCB program in the near future, in accordance with the 2011/2012 criteria that support Stage 1 meaningful use measures required to qualify hospitals for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
