CCHIT: Roster of certified EHRs growing for 2011/2012
The list of certified EHRs and modules is growing, according to the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT).
Early this month, the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) announced the first EHR products tested and certified by ONC-Authorized Testing and Certification Bodies (ONC-ATCB). On the list were 33 tested and certified by CCHIT to support the Stage 1 meaningful use measures required to qualify eligible providers and hospitals for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
To date, 11 additional products have joined that original group of 33 systems, and about 70 percent of the 44 EHR products currently certified in this program are also certified in the Commission's independently developed CCHIT Certified 2011 program.
