CSC puts a Patient in your Pocket
Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) has unveiled its Patient in your Pocket software in the U.K., enabling mobile healthcare professionals to access and update patient information at the point of care using a BlackBerry smart phone.
Patient in your Pocket will enable care providers to receive a schedule of appointments for the day ahead, according to the Falls Church, Va.-based CSC. Once with the patient, clinicians can retrieve up-to-date information about the patient’s condition and enter new data directly into the smart phone, dictating notes or filling in forms.
Patient confidentiality is protected through the use of smartcard log-on and data encryption, the company added.
