Medicity adds 12 hospitals to client base

Health information exchange service company Medicity has secured contractual commitments for 12 hospitals across five health systems in the southeastern U.S., Pennsylvania and Oregon.

With the company's HIE platform, data is sent from the hospital and integrated into physicians' EHRs and practice management systems, Medicity stated. For those providers without EHRs, the same information is accessible via any web-enabled device.

According to the Salt Lake City-based company, the following health systems will deploy Medicity’s technology to assist care collaboration between themselves and affiliated physician practices:
  • Baptist Health South Florida: A healthcare organization in South Florida, consisting of eight hospitals;
  • Lancaster General Hospital: A single-hospital health system with sub-acute and multiple outpatient facilities serving the Lancaster, Pa., area;
  • North Fulton Hospital: Roswell, Ga.;
  • Sky Lakes Medical Center: A regional healthcare center serving south-central Oregon; and
  • West Georgia Health: A healthcare provider based in LaGrange, Ga., serving western Georgia and eastern Alabama communities.
