Rural Indiana provider joins regional HIE

The Community Hospital of Bremen (CHB) has partnered with the Michiana Health Information Network (MHIN) to join a network of hospitals and long-term care facilities across Indiana and Michigan to exchange services to its rural community.

CHB is a nonprofit 25-bed critical access hospital serving Bremen, Ind., and surrounding communities.

As a result of the new partnership, the health information exchange (HIE) platform will be used by physicians and clinical staff across the community to share patient records from partnering healthcare facilities.

The integration project is under way, and providers throughout the region can anticipate completion by the beginning of 2011, CHB stated.
