Hologic finalizes Sentinelle Medical acquisition

Hologic has completed its acquisition of Toronto-based MRI equipment and diagnostic software provider Sentinelle Medical, for the purchase price of $85 million, plus a two-year contingent earn out.

According to Bedford, Mass.-based Hologic, the earn out will be payable in cash installments equal to a multiple of the incremental revenue growth in Sentinelle's business in the two years following last week’s closing date. The companies initially announced the intent to purchase in early July.

Sentinelle, a privately held developer of breast imaging technologies using MRI for the detection and better treatment of breast cancer, will add to Hologic’s product portfolio of breast cancer detection and intervention offerings, the company said.
