Siemens, Riverain align on chest imaging technology

Siemens Healthcare has integrated its digital radiography technology, Ysio, with Riverain Medical’s SoftView chest imaging offering.

According to Malvern, Pa.-based Siemens and Miamisburg, Ohio-based Riverain, SoftView uses the existing chest x-ray to suppress the ribs and clavicles to improve the visibility of soft tissue structures in the lungs, allowing for the interpretation of pulmonary nodules while eliminating additional dose and motion artifacts associated with dual-energy technologies.

The technology can also be acquired as an upgrade for other Siemens digital radiography systems, stated Siemens.
