HealthBridge opens Tri-State REC
HealthBridge, a nonprofit health information organization, has launched the Tri-State Regional Extension Center (REC) to help physicians and other medical professionals switch from paper records to EHRs.
Founded through a $9.7 million federal grant, the goal of this new initiative is to help more than 1,700 physicians switch to electronic health systems.
The Tri-State REC will serve southwestern Ohio, northern and northeastern Kentucky and southeastern Indiana. HealthBridge has partnered with other health IT organizations to implement the program, including the University of Kentucky, Northern Kentucky University, Collaborating Communities Health Information Exchange, HealthLINC, Northeast Kentucky Regional Health Information Organization, Health Care Excel and Ohio KePRO, as well as a variety of other supporting organizations from across the region.
