HIMSS Analytics Europe launched

The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) has formed HIMSS Analytics Europe to provide information and data resources to healthcare organizations, governments and health IT vendors.

The society's recent acquisition of assets from Hospital IT.Net served as the foundation of the new entity and will be the basis for a new portfolio of products and services for the European healthcare market, according to the Chicago-based organization.

HIMSS Analytics Europe will be based in Leipzig, Germany, and beginning in September, will offer services including:
  • Comparative IT adoption benchmarking;
  • A European-formulated EMR Adoption Model (EMRAM) scale;
  • Resources to help understand IT operations and how they compare to others; and
  • Resources for country-level policy makers and supplier companies that provide insight into the health IT marketplace.

Uwe Buddrus, former owner of Hospital IT.Net, will serve as managing director for HIMSS Analytics Europe.
