Vangent, Orion enter HIE partnership

Vangent has entered a strategic partnership with Orion Health that will leverage Vangent’s information management and strategic business process services and Orion’s experience in designing, implementing and operating a secure health information exchange.

The Vangent-Orion Health HIE will enable states and healthcare providers to meet the Nationwide Health Information Exchange (NHIN) guidelines of enabling standards-based, secure data exchange that ensures timely information is available at the point of care, said Vangent, of Arlington, Va.

Santa Monica, Calif.-based Orion Health's HIE architecture includes notifications, subscriptions and standards-based message exchange, the Concerto Clinical Portal, the Rhapsody Integration Engine and clinical workflow modules such as disease management, clinical documentation and lab and radiology orders.

Vangent brings its experience integrating large systems, coupled with its open-source HIE Open Source (HIEOS) software, which integrates the Integrated Healthcare Enterprise’s Cross Enterprise Document Sharing and Cross Community Access integration profiles for server infrastructure development.
