McKesson, HP bundle EHR technologies

A collaboration between health IT company McKesson and technology company HP was announced to offer physicians McKesson’s EHR/practice management systems bundled with HP office hardware.

A network of EHR-certified resellers will provide the bundled McKesson and HP pre-configured software with training, implementation and support services for physicians in their local communities, the San Francisco-based McKesson said. The bundles will be configured by practice size and will include point-of-care software.

According to the company, McKesson’s offering includes clinical and EHR software as well as business management and revenue management solutions while also providing connectivity for health information exchange and medical-surgical equipment and supplies. Equipment such as thin clients, notebooks and desktop PCs will be integrated into the McKesson and the HP EHR bundling, the company stated.

Physician practices will have the opportunity to choose from a range of packaged software and hardware options including McKesson’s Practice Partner, Lytec MD and Medisoft Clinical EHR/practice management systems, all of which feature Bright Note Technology, McKesson stated.
