GE unveils new MR elastography technology
As part of its Healthymagination venture, GE Healthcare has unveiled its MR-Touch, MR elastography (MRE) technology that will soon be made commercially available.
The recently FDA cleared visual palpation technique measures tissue elasticity in an non-invasive way through the use of low frequency sound waves in combination with MRI. MR-Touch, to be released along with the Optima MR450w 1.5T system will require a software upgrade along with a hardware accessory to a conventional MR scanner, said GE.
GE plans to showcase its MR-Touch at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) from Nov. 29-Dec. 4 in Chicago next week.
