S.C. health system selects Telus for HIE
The Carolina eHealth Alliance (CAeHA) has selected Telus Health Solutions' health information exchange (HIE) product, Oacis HIE, to electronically connect patient records across 12 disparate emergency departments in South Carolina.
At the core of the Oacis HIE platform is the company’s enterprise master person index (EMPI), designed to simplify the identity management in healthcare delivery, Telus said. The Oacis EMPI, in combination with the web-based Oacis Clinical Viewer, will provide each of the CAeHA emergency departments with a means to identify patients and aggregate/consolidate electronic portions of their medical records from participating institutions, according to the Longueuil, Quebec-based company.
