Axolotl earns CCHIT approval for ambulatory EHR
Axolotl, a provider of health information exchange solutions and related services, has received Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology's (CCHIT) approval for its Elysium 9, as a pre-market conditionally CCHIT Certified 08 ambulatory EHR.
Pre-market conditionally certified EHRs are new products that become fully certified once their operational use at a physician office site has been verified. Ambulatory EHRs are designed for physician offices and clinics.
The San Jose, Calif.-based Axolotl said it intends to maintain Elysium 9's certification to meet the required standards and certification criteria for "meaningful use" as referenced in the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act. The new software version is available to Axolotl's customers at no additional license cost, according to the company.
