Amazon’s vision for healthcare future comes into focus

Amazon’s foray into the healthcare space has taken many forms so far, but experts are still piecing together the whole story of what the e-commerce giant is planning, CNBC reported.

Over the past year, Amazon has announced a joint venture with Berkshire Hathaway and JPMorgan Chase, acquired online pharmacy PillPack for approximately $1 billion, and made a slew of hires to head its healthcare efforts, among other actions. However, these steps likely don’t tell the whole story.

Amazon’s voice technology system Alexa is poised to step into the healthcare arena even more in the future, experts predicted. Recently, the company has also explored at-home healthcare testing, according to CNBC.

Across all its platforms and partnerships, Amazon appears to be firing on all cylinders to tap into the healthcare market.
