Government wants $341K back from Tom Price for private jet use
Federal investigators say former HHS Secretary Tom Price wasted $341,000 of taxpayer money for his use of chartered jets and military aircraft, The New York Times reported Friday.
Price, who resigned in September 2017, may have to pay some of that money back. Daniel R. Levinson, inspector general of the HHS, said the government should try to recoup the money, which was improperly spent.
Out of 21 trips examined by the inspector general, 20 did not comply with federal requirements after Price for travel that included chartered aircraft, military aircraft, commercial aircraft or the fleet of planes equipped for use by the president and vice president.
