Moda is third insurer to sue over ACA risk-corridor payments

Portland, Ore.-based Moda Health has filed a lawsuit against the federal government for $180 million it says its owed in risk-corridor payments included in the Affordable Care Act, according to the Portland Business Journal

Two other insurers, Highmark and Health Republic Insurance of Oregon, had previously filed suits over HHS paying only 12.6 percent of the $2.9 billion requested by insurers to mitigate losses on ACA exchanges in the first years of open enrollment.
