HIMSS awards Lucile Packard, Stanford Children's with Stage 7
HIMSS Analytics has awarded Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford and Stanford Children’s Health in Palo Alto, Calif., with a Stage 7 Acute Care Award, and all 167 of their network practices with Stage 7 Ambulatory Awards.
The organizations were cited for their comprehensive, enterprise-wide EHR and efforts to begin mining their data for patient and population health improvement as well as contributions to peer-reviewed, published research for children's health.
“This recognition confirms that we are leveraging our clinical information technology to improve patient care across the full continuum of care,” said Ed Kopetsky, chief information officer for Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital and Stanford Children’s Health. The hospital is a regional and national referral center that cares for the highest-acuity pediatric cases in the nation, and is a teaching hospital for the Stanford University School of Medicine. “This award is a testament to quality and innovation by a very dedicated team of research, teaching and care delivery colleagues throughout our academic medical center, hospital and network. Together, we are leading the way to improve access and quality of care for all children and expectant mothers.”
This is the only children’s hospital enterprise in Northern California to receive these prestigious awards.
The organizations will be recognized at HIMSS16 in Las Vegas, Feb. 29-March 4, 2016.
