If the Supreme Court rules in favor of the plaintiff in the King v. Burwell Supreme Court case, hospitals will suffer because millions of people will not be able to afford health insurance, McClatchy reports.
The case will determine if people who purchase coverage on the federal health insurance marketplace will continue to receive tax credits to help them pay. The decision could lead to a large number of newly uninsured people who struggle to pay their medical bills and receive hospital charity or uncompensated care.
