Florida Hospital DeLand names new CEO

Lorenzo Brown has been named the new CEO of Florida Hospital DeLand in DeLand, Fla. The move is effective May 1.

Brown has served as vice president of operations for Florida Hospital Kissimmee since 2012, working to improve employee engagement and patient safety, launching a new cardiovascular program, and introducing a successful performance management system.

“It's truly a joy to help teams grow and become more effective at carrying out our mission,” Brown said in a statement. “I am eager to begin working at Florida Hospital DeLand in a way that will enable us to continue delivering exceptional patient care.”

“Lorenzo's talents in strategic planning and team building have led to measurable quality and process improvements in all of the places he has served while instilling our mission,” Don Jernigan, president and CEO of Adventist Health System, said in the same statement.

Brown has held a number of other positions at Florida Hospital, including assistant vice president of radiology enterprise, director of system operations, and facility expansion project director for Florida Hospital Altamonte.
