AAAASF names new president

The American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities has appointed one of its board members the new leader of the organization.

David Watts, MD, who was elected Oct. 15, had served on the board since 2010, AAAASF said in a statement to HealthExec. He has work on the standards, education committee, innovation and business development committees.

“I am honored to have been chosen as the next leader of this extraordinary association,” Watts said. “For nearly 40 years, AAAASF board members and staff have worked tirelessly to ensure patient safety in our accredited facilities. I look forward to propelling the organization into an exciting future that holds considerable opportunities.”

He is the founder and CEO of the Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery Institute in Vineland, New Jersey, and the CEO of Ambulatory Surgical Center and Watts Plastic Surgery Association, also in Vineland.
